Part of the National Curriculum Foundation Stage
Communication, Language and Literacy is one of the six areas of learning Happy Days Childcare works towards on the Foundation Stage. The Foundation Stage is the first part of the National Curriculum and is incorporated into all of our activities at Happy Days Childcare ::: find out about personal, social and emotional development here

Stories are read to the children each day and time is allowed for them to look at books. The book corner has a good supply of books, which are changed regularly.

We have many books in our book corner plus the mobile library visits regularly

The children also have the opportunity to choose their own books for the book corner when they visit the mobile library.

The children are encouraged to recognise their name on their peg and at break time.

There is lots of time to play in our home corner and we also set up different role play situations, ie bakers, doctors, travel agents.
