Part of the National Curriculum Early Years Foundation Stage
Creative Development is one of the six areas of learning Happy Days Childcare works towards on the Early Years Foundation Stage. . The EYFS is the first part of the National Curriculum and is incorporated into all of our activities at Happy Days Childcare ::: find out about physical development here
From 2 years of age, children are encouraged to use any aspect of our creative activity.  Parents will be able to enjoy our projects as they are completed, because everything goes up on the wall.  A theme usually carries on throughout the year, inter-linking with other projects as we go.

Children are encouraged to ask if they would like anything special out of the cupboard and to work on their own initiative.  This is especially relevant to the 4 year olds.  Creativity takes on board a wealth of materials including stencils, sponges, paper, cardboard, fabric, feathers, buttons, bows, paints, pens, model making, baking, play-dough and much more.

Each week we have cooking sessions for children to explore and try their own creations!

Music and movement feature quite largely at Happy Days.  We have a large collection of instruments which the children can access all the time; they play singing games, musical chairs, bumps and statues, learn to march in time to the music and have a wonderful band!  Music is one very good way of bringing children out of themselves.  It encourages social behaviour, forming their own little circles when they dance, and helps them make friends.

We also have a music teacher who comes in twice weekly to help us with music making.
