Happy Days Childcare was founded by Caroline Priestley NNEB in 1998. Having successfully expanded, we now enjoy spacious premises in the village of Stradishall, between Bury St Edmunds and Haverhill, in Suffolk. There is a light and inviting atmosphere which is carefully laid out so that children may enjoy an extremely wide range of activities, obtaining confidence and independence from their childcare environment. We are open 5 days a week from 7.30 am to 6.00 pm all year round, except bank holidays, and provide flexible sessions, full day care and out of school care (please see our Sessions and Rates for full details of sessions available).

Children may start Happy Days from 3 months of age in our dedicated baby area. By giving the new children an abundance of care and attention, they soon settle into their new surroundings. For pre-school children, an introductory session is offered to parents and children, where the parent/ guardian/carer may stay to give them an insight into pre-school activities. A maximum of 62 children may attend at any one time, many of which are entitled to funded sessions.

We aim to provide a happy and caring atmosphere in safe and secure surroundings. Pre-school sessions are structured in such a way that the children benefit fully, both mentally and physically, throughout the session from a wide range of activities. Each term a different theme is selected, ie Jungles, Dinosaurs, and the children explore this theme using paint, textures, stories etc to help them have a better understanding.

All children have access to an enclosed outdoor play area which they are encouraged to use all year round. Within the garden we have a vegetable patch for the children to grow their own vegetables, including a herb area for plants providing aromas, a willow house and a large climbing frame.

It is important to state at this juncture that children develop at different rates, but rest assured they will develop in their own time. By careful planning, assessing each child as they develop and with constant praise and encouragement, a child will enjoy learning and will come back for more. The more they are encouraged, the more they will learn.
